adventure

Here we are in Lawton, Oklahoma! It has been so wonderful seeing Jason more and more! We have been here a little over 2 weeks and we have been enjoying ourselves. I have met some pretty amazing Army wives here and we have had lots of girls nights already. We are adjusting to our new military lifestyle as well as living in a trailer! :) It's really not so bad...I mean I wouldn't want to do this forever, but for these few weeks will be great! Last week, mom and dad stopped in on their way home from Nebraska and spent a couple days here! It was so nice to have them here! We are hoping Jason's family gets to come visit as well.
As most of you know, Jason is getting stationed in Okinawa, Japan at Kadena Air Base! We are so thrilled and are really excited about this adventure. His report date was October, but now it's September, but will still most likely change again! We are getting more and more information everyday about our move and what we have to do! We are in the Lord's hands and we will rely on him to work it all out! Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement! :)

Moving...

Well, June became a whirlwind month. Jason and I decided that we were going to rent out our house and low and behold, God provided wonderful tennants in just a matter of days! They have been wonderful so far in helping get some things done in the yard! We had basically 30 days to move out! My dad was so amazing and worked so very hard to fix up 2 1/2 rooms in our house to have in finished for renters. We also had the help of our very good friends, Josh and Barb, that helped tremendously in getting things moved out and in storage! July is just around the corner and Paige and I are preparing to go to Oklahoma to visit Jason for at least a month. My uncle was so wonderful to let us use his travel trailer so we are going to stay in that on post near a lake and a waterpark! We are so thrilled! Lots of changes happening already, but we are looking forward to our family being back together...even if it is just on the weekends! :)

Oklahoma and a second honeymoon!

This past weekend, Paige stayed with my mom and dad and I drove to Oklahoma to see Jason! It was such a sweet time together to reconnect and just be together (even though we missed Paige terribly). It was great to see where he has been the last month and get a picture in my mind. We got to go see a movie together and I met his roommates, as well. It was a great weekend...but as always, in a blink of an eye it was over. We have about 3 1/2 months left of this training, then we will be stationed somewhere :). Praying for the time to go quickly!

Sweet Reunion

Arriving in Georgia was very surreal. Knowing my hubby had done the same thing just 10 weeks prior was chilling. I was so anxious to see him! We checked in to our hotel and low and behold...A PHONE CALL from Jason!! He had his phone back for good. It was so wonderful! That night, I finally got meet some of the fabulous women I had met that were going through this as well! We all had gitters and couldn't wait to see our men! I didn't sleep at all that night...I was just way too anxious! I was ready very early and found myself pacing a little. I couldn't wait to run into my man's arms! The Family Day ceremony was amazing! Watching all of the company march in chanting! (I cried). When we finally spotted him, it was hard to contain myself! (again, I cried). Finally, it was over and we were able to go get our soldiers! Into Jason's arms I went...of course, crying! Paige followed. She was so excited to see him! She just kept kissing him and touching his face and saying Daddy for no reason at all. It was such a sweet moment!

After Family day, we got to spend the whole day with him! It was wonderful! I missed him so much! We even got some alone time! :) Taking him back that night was hard, even though we knew we were going to see him in the morning. The next day we were up early again. Graduation was absolutely amazing! I cried to the whole thing! I was SO proud! Jason was fortunate enough to be in the front row of his platoons formation! We got excellent video and pictures of him! Again, after the ceremony, we got to have him for the rest of the day. Leaving him was hard...all over again. I knew that I was going to be able to visit him in Oklahoma, but the ache was there! After a long 10 weeks, it was so wonderful to see him, but it went so fast. I am so proud of the man that he has become! I am so madly in love my U.S. Soldier and I am a very proud Army wife! Hooah!

Here we go!

Well, the day has come! We are going to Georgia tomorrow morning! I cannot believe that we have made it through the first 10 weeks! Jason is doing wonderful and anxiously awaiting our arrival! It will be a long week with not alot of sleep, but extremely worth it. I am very eager to see Jason and finally be able to talk to him...face to face. Paige is so excited to see daddy. She has several things that she needs to show him (outfits and such). Jason is going to be very shocked at how much she has changed...not necessarily by looks, but her conversation. She talks NONSTOP! I am so anxious for our reunion! I have met some amazing Army wives that are going through the same thing. Several of their husbands are good friends with Jason. We are all looking forward to seeing each other as well!

I would just like to thank each and every one of you that prayed for us and supported us. God has been just amazing through these last 10 weeks. Without Him, we couldn't have done it. We have been so blessed by our families and our friends that have truly been there for Paige and I and also supported our family's decision! THANK YOU!

10 days

We are finally down to 10 days!
I have spent the last 3 weeks in Nebraska. It has been a great time for Paige and I both. Paige has thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of her cousins! I have loved the extra time with my sister and her family as well as my brother and his. Alot of changes are in store for us this fall, so we may not get to see them until next spring.
While we were here, we had lots of days just hanging around the house and playing. We also went to the zoo! It was a great time!

Tomorrow, I am on my way to Denver! I look forward to the time with Jason's sister and her family! We will only be there for a day and Andrea, Dylan, Paige and I will be hitting the road to AZ! I am very anxious to get home and be in my own house. We will only be there for 6 days and we will be on a plane again to go see Jason! We are so excited!
Jason is doing well at Basic Training. We are finally down to the last 10 days! I am very anxious to see him! 10 weeks is a long time to be away from your best friend! We only get 2 days with him when we go, but we are planning to make at least 2 trips to Oklahoma to visit him.
We are so thankful for all of the support we have recieved. We thank you all for your love and your prayers! God has been so amazing!

the last 3 weeks

Wow, what a roller coaster ride this has been! In the last 7 weeks, I have learned alot about myself and how to rely on the Lord. He has been so faithful and has carried not only me, but Jason and Paige through all of this. We aren't done, yet, but we are on the homestretch. I have met some amazing women that God has placed in my life, that are dealing with the same situation. One has become my dear friend and we haven't even met face to face! God is SO good.
I am still here in Nebraska with my sister. I love the time that we get together as sisters, moms and friends. Growing up there was such a huge age difference and because of that, I didn't really know her. As I have gotten older and had a child, we have more in common and the age gap doesn't seem so big. She is an amazing mother and wife and I am so thankful for the time with her to learn from her.
We have 23 days until I go see my amazing husband graduate from BCT. I miss him terribly. We have written lots of letters back and forth and have deepened our relationship through corresponding. I have an amazing man that God has given to me to share my life with til death do us part. I am so lucky and thankful! We are both looking forward to the time we get together at graduation. Once he goes to Oklahoma we plan to go visit him, and he will have his phone and a computer so we will be able to webcam. The last 10 weeks will be alot more tolerable!
We thank everyone for your continued prayers and support! You have been so wonderful and these 10 weeks would have been alot harder without you and your support! Thank you!

37 days...

We have just that until we leave to go to graduation! Paige and I are so excited! I am so thankful it is finally March. I am leaving on Friday to go to Nebraska for 3 weeks to visit my sister and brother and their families. I cannot wait to go. It will be so fun to be with them while the time passes.
Jason is doing really well in BCT so far. He says he enjoys the change, even though it's hard work. I have been very fortunate to get letters from him and a few sparatic phone calls. They all mean so much to both Paige and me. We are looking forward to the time he is in Oklahoma as we were informed we are allowed to visit him there! He will also be allowed to have his cell phone regularly and a computer so we can webcam. That will definately make the separation easier.
I know that Army life is going to be very challenging, but I know that we are going to love it. God has already shown us how faithful He is when we trust Him. We are really looking forward to what lies ahead for us, but right now it's one day at a time!

just around the corner

Today marks the 3 week mark that Jason has been gone. Boy, do I miss him. I haven't actually talked to him in 2 full weeks. I've gotten a couple random texts and a couple letters, but no voice. This weekend is the start of the next busy 7 weeks ahead. Saturday is a baby shower I am throwing for my dear friend, next weekend we are having a "Daughters of the King" night with our junior high and high school girls from church, the following Friday we leave for Nebraska. Paige and I will be staying for 3 weeks! I am so excited to get to spend some extra time with my siblings! I leave Nebraska April 3 and fly to Denver to my sister in law's house then we are driving home to AZ then 8 days later we are flying to Georgia to see Jason graduate!!! I am really looking forward to the time passing quickly. I am excited for all of it, but most of all, I want to see Jason. Thank you for your continued prayers for our family. They have sure helped! April is just around the corner! :)

gettin' gRoovy

Getting back into the groove of everyday life is a little rough. This week felt a little more normal, but the nights are still hard...not just for me but for Paige as well. I made her a blanket out of Army material and she snuggles up with that every night along with her hand-sized Army guy that she calls "daddy". She is slowly adjusting to him being gone and constantly reminds me that "daddy is at his new job. he's in Georgia". It's so sweet. 7 1/2 weeks cannot come fast enough! :) I decided to make Paige a graduation outfit out of pink camo. She loves it!
We have gotten 3 letters so far and he said there are more on the way! I am so thankful he is writing! :) It has really begun to fill the gap in our day to day talking. I am really really looking forward to being able to just pick up the phone and call him...whenever I want!

Paige and I have been so blessed to have amazing family and friends nearby. They have really supported us through all of this and it is so comforting!

We would love continued prayer for our family as we go through the next 5 months and for Jason's safety. He has really amazed me with the boldness he has shown to other men in his unit...witnessing to them. When the guys get angry about stuff, Jason quickly reminds them that getting angry is not going to fix it! I am so proud of him! We are so thankful that God has given us this opportunity to spread His word and so proud that Jason is taking it and sharing! God is SO good!

Well, it's 2009! Where has the time gone? We are looking forward to a great year!
Paige, 17 months now, is the joy of our lives! She is so much fun and everyday makes us smile and laugh. She is growing up so much and talking more and more! It's getting colder now, so we have to play inside alot. Her sandbox sits empty for the winter. Soon enough, it will be spring and we will be out and about! We are planning on planting a garden - she will love being in the dirt. It will be a great outdoor activity!
Jason is still traveling back and forth to Phoenix, which is a long drive for him, but he and I are so thankful that he has a good job! He is currently involved in our church's Men's Fraternity and is the director of our AWANA's TREK (junior high) group (as am I). We are also involved in a young families group as well.
I am still staying at home and enjoying the precious time I have with Paige. I also babysit my friend's little boy as well. They are great friends already! :)
We are planning for more children, and are sure it will happen in God's time! We are so thankful for all of His provisions in our lives! HAPPY 2009!
