Thanksgiving weekend

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year! We invited some friends, Alex and Suji, over for dinner and another single soldier came as well! We started this week my making some pumpkin spice muffins. Paige is becoming my little kitchen helper and she loves to bake!

On Black Friday, we ventured out to a few stores on neighboring bases to pick up some little gifts. We decided to finally ride the huge ferris wheel that we see just about every day! Paige has been begging us to take her so we finally gave in. I think we picked the most windy day to go...it was a little unnerving, but still fun!

Saturday, we decided to see some things that are close by our house! We had heard about a egg farm that also had a zoo! Sounds strange, I know, but it was actually very fun! They has several animals there and a huge store filled with not only eggs, but other fresh baked goods!

this monkey did not like my camera, he was holding on to my lens while I took this piture...when I was done he hissed at me!

got eggs?

On Sunday, we ventured out yet again to the Southeast Botanical Garden! It was SO much more that we had expected...it was so beautiful! We walked in the gates and found out we could rent bikes...maybe next time. They had a play area for kids and Paige zip-lined for the first time! They are currently setting up for their Christmas show and is looking to be similar to the Valley of Lights that they have back home. We will definately be going to see that! :)

Halloween to....almost Thanksgiving :)

We celebrated Halloween at Kadena's Chapel 3! They had a harvest party...similar to HBCs! It was huge and there were so many people there! Paige had a great time and came home with lots of candy!

We have been getting out and seeing some of the many parks Okinawa has to offer! One day we went to 4 different parks...Paige was so worn out!

Roller slides are a big hit here! This one is so big!

Paige....oh where to begin. She is such a character these days. She has developed such a unique personality and keeps us laughing and on our toes! We have been teaching her simple Japanese words like "arigato" (thank you) and she is very excited when she gets to use them! They Japanese love her and always laugh when she talks to them!

This past weekend, Jason and I attended our very first military ball!! It was for his whole unit (1-1 ADA) called the St. Barbara's Day Ball. There is a whole history behind the name, but that's for another time! :) We had a great time and it was fun to get dressed up!

Me and my friend, Suji!

A few of the amazing women I have met here!

We decided to try some new food and ventured out to the infamous American Village. It's so beautiful down there. We found a little restaraunt called Sunrise. We ordered the Teryaki Chicken for us and garlic chicken for Paige. It was SO yummy, but the funny part is that is comes with french fries! Hmmm...

Sunday after church, we went to a pizza joint that we have gone to before, but this time I had my camera! It was so beautiful being on the 3rd floor and gazing at the ocean! Oh...and the food was amazing!

Along with all the new things we have done, we are starting a few weekly things and one includes Cubbies for Paige! She loves it so much and has made lots of friends!

Well, it's 2009! Where has the time gone? We are looking forward to a great year!
Paige, 17 months now, is the joy of our lives! She is so much fun and everyday makes us smile and laugh. She is growing up so much and talking more and more! It's getting colder now, so we have to play inside alot. Her sandbox sits empty for the winter. Soon enough, it will be spring and we will be out and about! We are planning on planting a garden - she will love being in the dirt. It will be a great outdoor activity!
Jason is still traveling back and forth to Phoenix, which is a long drive for him, but he and I are so thankful that he has a good job! He is currently involved in our church's Men's Fraternity and is the director of our AWANA's TREK (junior high) group (as am I). We are also involved in a young families group as well.
I am still staying at home and enjoying the precious time I have with Paige. I also babysit my friend's little boy as well. They are great friends already! :)
We are planning for more children, and are sure it will happen in God's time! We are so thankful for all of His provisions in our lives! HAPPY 2009!
